To our outdoor enthusiasts,
We would like to start by saying thank you. Thank you for supporting us, thank you for believing in us, and thank you most for seeing our vision and buying into it.
When we started this company in September of 2018, we didn’t have a clue what we were doing. We quite literally started with nothing more than an idea, some sketches on some random sheets of paper (probably the back side of assignments we were supposed to have turned in) and a little bit of startup cash.
The past 1 year and 122 days have been nothing shy of absolutely incredible for us. We have built a brand from nothing more than a dream to something tangible and real, and we couldn’t have done it without all of you.
As we enter the new year, we have decided to make some changes at Outdoor Ambitions. Effective January 1st, 2020, the two of us as founders, Nick Poli and Nick Smock, will be stepping away from the company.
Now, we understand this may come as a surprise, and maybe you even have some questions. So, let’s give you some more information and help clear the air.
Nick Smock will be stepping away to pursue his passion for the adventure and travel photography industry. Over the last six months Nick’s other side business has taken off, meaning more clients and increased travel around the country. Between that and finishing his final year at Central Michigan University, Outdoor Ambitions has to take the backseat for a while, with hopes to one day return when life has slowed down a bit.
Nick Poli on the other hand, will be stepping away to continue his pursuit in the fashion industry. Not only is graduation quickly approaching in May, but he will also be designing in Central Michigan University’s Threads Fashion Show, an annual exhibition of student created fashion collections. With much to do and little time to do it, he has decided that placing his design work at Outdoor Ambitions on hold is not only in his best interest, but also the company’s.
What does this mean for Outdoor Ambitions and of course, you?
Although the company website and social media channels will still be active into the foreseeable future, we simply won’t be putting out any new product for the time being. We would like to keep sharing our love for the outdoors with the community we have created, and in an attempt to do so we will continue to use our social media and website as a form of “travel blog” for our followers.
Our goal is to incorporate not only our own personal travels, but also the travels of others who would like to share them our community. This transition takes a bit of time and work, but we hope to have the process completed within the next few weeks, and we encourage you to be on the lookout for updates!
We will continue to leave the site up and operational until December 31st, at 9pm EST, and you may purchase gear up until that point hassle free. It is important to us that we convey a sense of pride behind what we have done with the company thus far. We are not at all treating this as a failure, but instead a steppingstone into our professional and personal lives.
Again, we would like to thank you all for the support you have given us, we really couldn’t have done it without you. Until next time,
See You Outside.
